On July 26, 2023, at approximately 1:56 PM, a concerned citizen contacted the Zamboanga City Police Station 4 (ZCPS4) to report the discovery of a deceased body in the bushy area of Zone 3, Brgy. Pasobolong, Zamboanga City.
The victim was later identified as 17-year-old Louella Jaganas Acaylar, a single female resident of Brgy. Pasobolong.
ZCPS4 personnel, under the leadership of PMAJ BENJEMAR M AJIBON, promptly responded to the report and proceeded to the location of the incident. According to the investigation, the body had already been in a state of decomposition.
The victim’s clothes were found intact, but her underwear was discovered near the scene, and a strap of an eco bag was tied around her neck.
Prior to the discovery, Louella Jaganas Acaylar had been reported missing for more than 24 hours, causing alarm and distress in the community. The investigation revealed that a 12-year-old boy named Shardy Gonzales, hailing from Nazareth Drive, Brgy. Culianan, ZC, and his friends were walking in the area when they came across the tragic scene.
The Zamboanga City Forensics Unit (ZCFU), led by PLT JUBER P ARBOIZ, meticulously processed the crime scene to gather crucial evidence. Meanwhile, the victim’s body was transported to Saint Peter Funeral in Brgy. Divisoria, Zamboanga City, for proper disposition while awaiting an autopsy examination to determine the cause of death.
In response to the incident, the authorities are conducting a thorough follow-up investigation in hopes of identifying and apprehending the possible suspect or suspects behind this heinous crime. The community remains on edge as they mourn the loss of a young life and seek justice for Louella Jaganas Acaylar’s untimely and tragic death.
