Gyungu Ortese road in Benue State has been blocked by enraged villagers, leaving travelers bound for Lafia and Abuja stranded with the community grappling with the aftermath of tragic killings by suspected herdsmen.
It was gathered from sources on the scene that the armed herdsmen invaded and attacked the village, Ortese in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of August 11.
A source said the attack, fueled by an unfathomable brutality, claimed the lives of numerous innocent souls, predominantly women and childre.
However, following the incident, villagers have in turn taken over the high way to protest blocking access to travelers coming in and out of Benue state.
