A woman identified as Hope Nwala is accused of committing a horrifying act of violence against her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to reports, Hope allegedly poured scalding hot groundnut oil on her husband and then viciously struck him on the head with a hammer.
The catalyst for this shocking outburst appears to have been an argument that erupted when Ekelediri insisted that Hope’s younger sister leave their home.
The husband narrate his own side of the story, he said:
“I had asked my wife’s younger sister to leave my house due to her dressing and her habit of occupying our matrimonial bed even when I am present. No young man would tolerate such behavior.
“However, my wife refused to let her sister leave. I also noticed my wife alone with a tall, dark-skinned man in the shop I had rented for her. It wasn’t for business; he was following my wife and sister everywhere.
With all of these issues, I gave her younger sister two thousand naira for transportation to go home, so that I could better understand what was happening in my house. But my wife became angry. While I went to bed to sleep, she poured boiling groundnut oil on me and then began hitting me with a hammer.”
