Jessup Man Killed His Wife Stacie Ann Powers Before Killing Himself

A Lackawanna County man killed his wife and then himself, state police at Dunmore said Sunday morning.

State police launched a homicide investigation once they discovered Stacie Ann Powers dead in her home on 2nd Avenue in Jessup on Saturday night, troopers said. Powers, 49, suffered apparent blunt-force trauma.

Officers were called to the home to check on reports of a couple fighting earlier on Saturday between Powers and her husband, Michael Raymond Pine. Pine, 49, was nowhere to be found.

On Sunday morning, state police found Pine’s vehicle in the woods near Salem Mountain Road in Carbondale Township. Inside, they found Pine dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
