Mass Shootings In Lewiston, Maine Leave 22 Dead, Suspect, Robert Card At Large

A series of mass shootings has resulted in the tragic loss of at least 22 lives, with several others wounded in Lewiston, Maine.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are in relentless pursuit of a 40-year-old man who is suspected to be the perpetrator behind what is already considered one of the deadliest mass shootings of 2023.

According to reports from various news outlets, the mass shootings have resulted in between 50 to 60 individuals sustaining injuries during the horrifying incidents.

These heart-wrenching events unfolded at multiple locations, with two central venues identified as the epicenters of this tragedy: Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant and Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley located around four miles away.

The authorities have officially identified Robert Card, a 40-year-old individual, as a person of interest who remains at large.

Mr. Card’s professional background includes working as a firearms instructor at a U.S. Army reserve base within the state.

In response to the ongoing situation, authorities have issued critical shelter-in-place advisories for the residents of Lewiston and the neighboring city of Auburn.

The White House has issued a statement confirming that President Joe Biden has taken immediate action by engaging with several Maine lawmakers and extending support to Maine Governor Janet Mills (D). President Biden has pledged “full federal support” to assist in responding to the aftermath of this tragic shooting.
