A man has killed himself in Lusaka, after allegedly shooting and wounding his girl-friend
Jeff Mulenga, aged between 25 and 30, of Libala South, shot himself in the chest, in State Lodge area, after shooting his girl-friend at her house in Chalala area.
The two shooting incidences happened last night between 22 hours and 23.30 hours.
Police Deputy Spokesperson, DANNY MWALE has confirmed and further identified MULENGA’s girl-friend only as BWALYA, aged 23.
Mr MWALE explained that investigations indicate that MULENGA went to his girl-friend’s house, where he shot her around 22 hours, before leaving.
He says police were only notified by neighbours who rushed to the scene where they found the woman wounded and later rushed her to hospital, and is now out of danger.
Mr MWALE has further said police, around 23.30 hours, later received a report that MULENGA had shot himself in State Lodge area.
He said Police rushed to the scene and found his body lying on the ground with a gun-shot wound, while his vehicle, a Mazda BT-50 was found parked in front of one of the houses, with the keys in the ignition.
Mr MWALE said police also found a pistol at the scene and have instituted investigations to establish the actual cause of the shooting incidents.
