Missing Kendra Roach Found Dead Near A Trail In Pittsford

The search for a missing woman ended Wednesday afternoon when the body of Kendra Roach was found near a creek.

The 57-year-old had been missing since Thursday, May 2 when she left her home for a walk around 8:30 p.m.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office believed she was headed toward Monroe Avenue area and the Auburn walking trail. Law enforcement and emergency responders started searching based on where her cell phone last pinged.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, search teams gathered and appeared to be searching around one specific spot.

Officials are still investigating how Roach died to be accidental.

“It does appear that she was trying to go for a walk through the woods, trying to get up to the Pittsford trail back here, and possibly she was trying to cross a log that had fallen over the creek and lost her footing, is what we’re contemplating at this time,” explains Fowler.

Deputies are still trying to learn why Roach was reported missing five days after she went for that walk on May 2 but say Roach had a habit of taking solo walks.
