Mother Lakeyshia Timmons Gunned Down In Milwaukee Near 18th And Hadley

A 42-year-old woman was shot and killed near 18th and Hadley around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning in Milwaukee.

Family members reveal the woman was Lakeyshia Timmons, and that she was a mother to seven children. That family is overcome with emotions, and trying to get answers.

Police had much of the intersection of 18th and Hadley taped off Monday morning. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from an argument, but family members tell TMJ4’s Mary Jo Ola that’s not the case.

They say they do not know exactly what happened but that the Timmons didn’t bother people, and welcomed them into her home.

“All of our friends with her kids. Any kids who needed somewhere to stay were her kids. She fed them. She didn’t want nothing for nobody. She didn’t ask for nothing. She looked out for everybody as much as she could y’all,” says Latanilia Timmons, Lakeyshia’s daughter.

“I woke up to my sister calling me, saying my mama was dead on the ground,” Latanilia said. “It was senseless. She had babies at home. She just came back from dropping my sisters off at school.”

“Made it to 20th and Clark over there. Police just flying everywhere,” says Jermaine McAdory, who told TMJ4 he was close by when the shooting happened.

“I just hope y’all find who killed my daughter man,” Lakeyshia’s mother pleaded through tears. “It’s so much violence going on y’all need to put them guns down. It’s too much hatred out here in this world.”
