Michael Mosley, a British doctor and TV personality, who went missing was discovered dead early on Sunday morning on the Greek island where he was last seen.
The finding came after a massive search that was initiated on Wednesday after Mosley vanished while out for a stroll.
“Part of what made Michael so special was his adventurous nature,” his wife, Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, said in a statement to the Associated Press. “It’s heartbreaking to lose my amazing, hilarious, generous, and intelligent spouse, Michael. Together, we lived an extraordinarily fortunate existence. We were really happy and in love with one another.”
According to Mosley’s wife, he went on a trek in the wrong direction and fell in a location where he was difficult to notice, as reported by The Associated Press. Authorities did not officially identify the remains, but they did disclose early on Sunday that a corpse was discovered over the course of a lengthy, multi-day search for Mosley.
