A college student, identified as Cheryl Condeza Baruelo, 32 years old, was shot in Mirasol St. (Bagong Camino), Brgy. Bagumbayan, this city, Monday afternoon, March 4.
Baruelo, a 4th-year student of Osmeña Colleges and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Masbate City, was walking with another woman, Rosa Mae Apaya from Osmeña Colleges, when she was suddenly shot by two unidentified suspects around 5:55 in the afternoon.
The victim, who is the wife of a police officer, was pronounced dead upon arrival at La Funeraria Eternas, Brgy. Kinamaligan, Masbate City, for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities recovered a bullet casing and a fired bullet at the crime scene.
The suspects immediately fled towards El Dorado, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Masbate City, Masbate after committing the crime.
